Ukulele ensemble of EIT Hawke's Bay, institute of technology in Napier, New Zealand. Provisional Motto: "Who needs talent when you have enthusiasm?" We started together in November 2009, after discovering our mutual hidden uke fetish at the Hawke's Bay Ukulele World Record Attempt in October.

We are available for weddings & bar mitzvahs provided you don't mind listening to the same 3 songs over and over again...

2 December 2009 Walt, Margaret, Kathy, Sally, Michael, Tryphena, Joyce, Diane 3. Hoki Mai 4. Jingle Bells 5. Feliz Navidad, plus all others, and later, 7. I'm yours New beginning for Feliz Navidad, Walt solos, then plays C, then all join in on D then G. Sung & played delicately first time round. Finally got chords on Jingle Bells sheet music right after some serious stuffing up by Herr Prof Dr Michael Verhaart. We rocked it. (Also, please don't unexpectedly turn a page)
3 December 2009 Walt, Margaret, Sally, Michael, Joyce, Diane, Tryphena, Kathy 3. Hoki Mai, 5. Feliz Navidad 4. Jingle Bells (ad nauseam) EIT words for Jinglebells sounding good. Margaret got hooked up and turned on. Excellent dress rehearsal all round really.
4 December 2009 Walt, Margaret, Kathy, Sally, Michael, Tryphena, Joyce, Diane 3. Hoki Mai, 5. Feliz Navidad 4. Jingle Bells (with EIT clip) Brilliant performance in EIT Final Staff meeting .. a real buzzzzzzz
8 December 2009 Walt, Margaret, Sally, Michael, Joyce, Diane, Kathy 8. Jellyman Kelly 9. Angie 10. Blue Smoke also to relive our glory 3. Hoki Mai 4. Jingle Bells 1. 10 Guitars 2. Lion Sleeps Tonight (has potential for rounds), Walt, Diane & Joyce played around with Hallelujah Decided not to send out all staff now, but welcome new members as they approach us. Some names have been dropped (Naomi, Deb, Raema?). Then in new semester send out All Staff asking to seek us out (or perhaps a new year's concert???)
10 December 2009 Walt, Margaret, Sally, Joyce, Diana Desmond stopped by 3. Hoki Mai, 5. Feliz Navidad plus also 8. Jellyman Kelly 9. Angie 10. Blue Smoke. Sweet violet? Other assorted songs Bit messy. We may need more structure if we want to get new songs as good as we did x-mas carols
15 December 2009 Walt, Margaret (on air ukulele), Sally, Michael, Joyce, Diane, Jennifer 8. Jellyman Kelly 9. Angie 10. Blue Smoke also 3. Hoki Mai. And Sally brought in easy chords for It's a Heartache which we all played w/o a hitch. Walt, Diane, Jennifer & Joyce played around with Hallelujah, some Beatles song I don't know and With or Without You Welcome to Jennifer, our newest member although she has brought a 2nd (shock, horror!) pink ukulele. May need to change that...Good news though, Jennifer does harmonies. Tried to add 2nd voice to Blue Smoke, as base melody is v high range. Also on Jellyman Kelly, interludes after chorus (Walt to practise solo) and Joyce to do the final "So that's the song abt..." in her broadest American accent
