Objective Conditional comments

By the end of this page you will be able to:

  • Redirect a Web page

Redirect a user to a new URL

To redirect a user to a new URL use the refresh meta tag.

The example (below) will display a line of text for three seconds before automatically jumping to a new URL.

Note that the quotes around the CONTENTS value must surround both the time delay and the target URL. The delay can be zero, but remember that the page will still be visible until the new page is downloaded.

</head>
<body bgcolor=#FFFFFF text=#000040>
<p>We’ve moved! I’ll take you to our new page now...</p>
</body>
