Massive amounts of R&D spent in training computer systems
As students you need to know some basic facts about the computer equipment you are using. Over many years and using countless Research & Development dollars the equipment you are using has had many unique enhancements added
  1. On the day before a written assignment is due your printer is designed to do one of the following;
    • Freeze completely and refuse to work
    • Run out of toner or ink, this feature is further enhanced by running out only when the shops are closed and you have no spares.
    • Decide your printer driver is the wrong one and print unrecognisable hieroglyphics. 
  2. When printing out an assessment for the last time and 10 minutes before it is due to be submitted the printer will
    • Have a paper jam on the last page.
    • Request a paper size you don't have
    • Run out of ink on the last page
    • Be printing out an exceptionally large job for another student
    • Run out of paper with a couple of pages to go.
  1. Hard Disk drives will do the following;
    • Corrupt your file
    • Fail completely.
  2. Your computer will decide
    • It is time to have a major virus infection

 


My assessment won't be completed because ...
This following list contains a collection of some of the more interesting excuses given for why assessments were late...
  1. I'm supposed to do my presentation today but I won't be able to do it because my girlfriend has a doctors appointment.
  2. I couldn't do my assignment because my neighbour's shed blew up.
