Prototype 1: Hypertext Markup

Goals:

1. Have easily maintained and updated on-line electronic notes
2. "Publish" hard copy notes for my students when required, for example, some of the theory notes in the CBC DT100 (Data Organisation and Control).
3. Produce overhead transparencies (OHT) without reverting to another product - for the times when I am not teaching in a computer room.
4. Use a computer projector to display the notes when one is available.
5. To use the same notes across several teaching programs, including Certificate in Business Computing (CBC), Advanced CBC (ACBC) and the NZQA Certificate in Computing.

• More easily maintained
• Huge number of files
• As OHT's students still copied notes.
• IE font selection small (notes) large (OHT's)
• Page break problem
• Use computer projector (MA200)
• Encyclopedia rather than module base.
  DT100, DB100 & framework unit overlaps
  to specific results in "Monkey-see monkey do..."
• Training guides quick online application startups.

Issues

Paragraph spacing

• [Shift]+[Enter] rather than [Enter]

Single frame v's dual frame

• Index left or right
• Focus on index = printing problem
• Need raw html fiddling since frames unsupported in Word

Graphics

• Need to use GIF or JPG
• Cartoons drawn/coloured/scanned.
