2786 Create and use a computer flatfile database using base functions

Purpose: People credited with this unit standard are able to: create a computer database file using text, numbers, and arithmetic formulae; and use computer flatfile database application base functions.

Special note comment: Special note 3 states that "Any database that can operate as a flatfile and allows the performance criteria to be met may be used". MS-Access meets this criteria as long as a single table only is used. Learning this unit in MS-Works is actually easier, since MS-Access allows much more than what is required.
