  • Learning outcomes
    The student will be able to:
    • Describe the history and the use of the Internet.
    • Demonstrate the use of Internet mail and the ability to locate and retrieve Internet resources.
    • Develop a web page using basic Internet programming language.
    • Use the features of the Web authoring package to create a commercial or educational package capable of being displayed using a web browser.

  • Requirement to pass:
    At least 50% overall including at least 40% in the final examination. The lecturer may use an oral examination to ensure that you understand any practical work submitted.
  • Submission details
  • Assignments are due by 8:15am on the due date.
  • In the case of the project this must be submitted on CD-ROM or available on your home drive in a directory called h:/i532_<userid> (eg. h:/i532_verham1). The start page must be index.htm (or index.html).
  • There will also be tutorials/practical exercises. These are designed to help you assess your progress on the subject. They will be used to assess your class performance should you need to apply for a special assessment circumstance in the event that you are unable to complete either of the above assessments. You are strongly advised to complete all tutorials/practical exercises.

    Refer to you BCS handbook, but note that there is NO Resit or resubmission provision for any assessment. Check the handbook for any recount provisions.
