Development Software is used to enable us to describe a set of instructions for the computer to follow
"There's no reason why your great-grandchildren shouldn't be able to boot up your program and play a game of chess and interact with you even though you've been dead for a hundred years",
Timothy Leary.
In order for the computer to work, it is necessary that it is given and is able to follow instructions. Computers are an organised jumble of electronic components, which will follow unerringly a set of instructions. As humans, we need the ability to issue these instructions, so that the computer can understand them. Development software may be very specific in its nature such as Machine Coding for the Computer's chip, through to Fourth Generation Languages encompassing many parts of the systems development life cycle
