The features available in a Word processor has steadily increased to a point where many of the things that were once the domain of a Desk-top publisher are now included.
Traditionally a Word processor was used for tasks suited to typewriters such as;
Correspondence
Letters
Company reports
Memos
Assignments
Other uses that are being included in modern word processors include;
Web- publishing
Today most desk-top publishing tasks can be done on a Word-processor. The term "document processor" is now being used to include both WP and DTP.
