WP - Font styles

Fonts are the size and style of the Letters used.

• Style
  • Eg. Times Roman, Helvitica, Courier
• Size
  • Points- Font Size used for proportional styles
  • eg Times Roman (72 points = 1 inch ),.
  • 18 points, 14 points, 12 points
  • Characters per inch (cpi) - used for non-proportional styles. eg Courier
• Characteristics
  • Normal Times Roman
  • Bold Times Roman
  • Italic Times Roman
  • Bold Italic Times Roman
  • Underline Times Roman
• Colours
  • Characters may also be given different colours to allow for impact.
• Moods
  • Trendy: Impact
  • Nostalgic: Bodoni, Courier
  • Traditional: Bookman, Book Antiqua
  • Classic: New York, georgia
  • Playful: Mistral, Lucida Handwriting, Brush script MT
  • Aggressive: Verdana, Helvitica
  • Friendly: Arial
  • Informative: Times Roman
  • Sophisticated: Wide latin (a well rounded font suggesting something beautiful)

Notes

• Most Word Processors are limited to using only those fonts that your printer is capable of printing!!!
• Products such as Director 7 allow fonts to be embedded with the movie.
• Copyright problems mean font names may change between programs!
