Examples

• Accountants submit tax returns electronically to Inland Revenue.

• Customs paperwork will hopefully be a thing of the past.
• Jan 1997 - 300 importers performing 850,000 transactions per year using EDI.
• Once exporters added (expected June 1997) will be up to 1000 customers generating 3.5 million transactions per year.
• 1978 began using EDI using CASPER on an ICL mainframe with a client-server environment running Sybase DB on a Sun Enterprise Server.
