Maintain high speed printers, changing paper and bundling jobs for customers.
During quieter periods, attend to "housekeeping" tasks such as cleaning tapes and disks.

Must be able to work as part of a team.
Entry Requirements
Because computer equipment varies from company to company, most firms provide on-the-job training and in-house courses for their operators.
Entry requirements vary, but most firms will expect a good sixth form certificate grade or a tertiary qualification in business computing.
Training
Sixth form certificate or tertiary qualifications gained at Polytechnic provide entry level requirements. Most firms will then provide in-house training.
Prospects
Move from trainee operator to shift leader and operations supervisor, and then into operations management. Many operators move into alternative computing related careers such as programmers and analysts.
