Design and layout

Probably the most important design consideration is that you need to write for the destination platform. Often the multimedia development is done on a high specification computer, whereas the destination machines will most often be of much less power.

For example

  • A VGA screen of 640 x 480pixels  at 256 colours.

The colour wheel

Primary Red, yellow, blue
monochromatic add black (shade), or white (tint) to colours
Contrast complementary colours (opposite the selected coloured)
Harmonious Adjacent colours (next to)
Recede (Cool colours) green, blue, violet
Advance (warm colours) yellow, orange, red
