WWW - Search engines |
| A search engine is like a library catalog. Whenerver you want to
find something in a library you access the catalog and search for the topic yu are
interested in. In a library the search will generally give a book reference, whereas on
the web a page reference (or URL) will be shown. Unfortunately with so many pages on the web many of the "hits" are just better than useless. With some key words millions of hits can be generated. Further unexpected results are also possible, for example a search on "Mars" may not just find data on the planet Mars but may also bring up Male/female related links. |
major search engine. www.inlktomi.com used by Yahoo! and HotBot. |
