OCR reader:
- May be a scanner used to read magnetic characters, as in a

type written or handwritten. This is used to read addresses on envelopes in automatic
postal sorting systems.

- Characters are created in a particular type style which can be read by humans and OC

- Magnetic Ink Character Recognition (MICR) characters of a particular style

become magnetised and then under a read head so that the data can be transferred to the
computer
