A chip designed for the workstation/server market.
- New version of Pentium II.
P6 microarchitecture core featuring Dynamic Execution
- 400MHz & 450 MHz
- Uses slot 2 connector.
- 0.25 micron CMOS technology
- Essentially a PII with a 100 MHz system bus located between the CPU & secondary
cache chip(s), that run at the same speed as the processor. (Standard PII secondary cache
runs at half the processor speed).
- Intels Dual Independent Bus featuring:
- 400 MHz L2 cache bus, operating at the same speed as the processor core
- 100 MHz transactional System Bus and 100 MHz SDRAM and EDO memory support, allowing
faster communication between the processor and other parts of the computer system
- Addressable memory support up to 64GB
- Uses 440GX chip set or 450NX (supports up to four Xeon chips).
