cpui_px1.gif (11807 bytes)

A chip designed for the workstation/server market.
  • New version of Pentium II.
P6 microarchitecture core featuring Dynamic Execution
  • 400MHz & 450 MHz
  • Uses slot 2 connector.
  • 0.25 micron CMOS technology
  • Essentially a PII with a 100 MHz system bus located between the CPU & secondary cache chip(s), that run at the same speed as the processor. (Standard PII secondary cache runs at half the processor speed).
  • Intel’s Dual Independent Bus featuring:
    • 400 MHz L2 cache bus, operating at the same speed as the processor core
    • 100 MHz transactional System Bus and 100 MHz SDRAM and EDO memory support, allowing faster communication between the processor and other parts of the computer system
  • Addressable memory support up to 64GB
  • Uses 440GX chip set or 450NX (supports up to four Xeon chips).
