  1. The control characters are at the beginning of the table, and include communications characters.
  2. The order is digits, uppercase (A..Z), then lowercase (a..z), so when you sort ASCII text this will be the sort order.
  3. Of special note are;
    ESC(Hex 1B) used in many products as an "exit" key, or used in conjunction with other characters, to set attributes on the screen or printer(such as bold, underline).
    LF (Hex 0A) and FF(Hex 0C) useful when printing,
    BEL (Hex 07) used to ring a bell when a warning is given to an operator/user.
  4. Communications characters include ACK (Hex06) to acknowledge data has been received correctly (and its opposite NAK (Hex15)).
