Adding links to htmls in MS Word97
|
In Word create two more documents hardware.htm and software.htm, as shown below, and
save.
Hardware
"Something you can kick"
Input - Keyboard
Output - Printer |
You might like to apply a H1 style (not Heading 1 - which is the wordprocessor default)
to the heading (as I have)
Software
"Instructions for the computer"
- System
- Application
- Development
|
Note: Here I have highlighted the types then clicked on the "Bullets" icon.
- In Word select the home.htm document.
- Highlight the word Hardware
* Select the "Insert Hyperlink" button on the toolbar (See diagram 1)
* Click the [Browse] button next to the text box for "Link to file or URL".
* Select "hardware.htm", and [OK]
(Make sure "use relative path for hyperlink" is checked. This will allow you to
easily copy you files to another system)
- Do the same for Software
- Save the document
- Return to the browser
([Alt]+[Tab] if necessary)
- Use the Browsers [Refresh] button to refresh the page
You should now see the "hyperlinks" underlined. By clicking on them you will
jump to the appropriate page. To return to the home page use the browsers [Back] button.
