Creating a background fill in a web page

• Create a new file 800 x 5 16 million colours
  • Use paint pot and select effect
  • Save the file as a gif or jpg
  • Use as a tiled background on the web page

Saving a gif

• If you want to save a gif and you have been working with 16 million colours
  • If it is a screen dump and you want to avoid "speckling" , reduce the colour depth to 256 first using standard windows colours, then save.
  • If it has lots of shades (as in a photo) you can use its optimised palette.
