CV: Creating page one of the presentation

  • The goal is to produce the first slide of a presentation that will tell your audience a little about yourself. (An example is shown left).
  • I will be using floptical bunny in the example.. feel free to use your own data.

  • On entering Powerpoint you will be asked how you want to create your presentation. In this case we will start with a blank presentation.
  • Select Blank presentation, then [OK]

  • Select the "Clip Art & Text" layout shown left.
  • Press [Ok]

  • A blank slide like the one shown left will appear.
  • Click in the "Click to add title" box, and enter your name
  • Click in the "Click to add text" box and type something about yourself.
    • If you want to indent some of the text (in the example above the interests; computer games, music, etc., are indented), use the button (tool bar at the top of the screen) p97cv_1d.gif (894 bytes) button (tool bar at the top of the screen).
  • Double click in the "Double click to add clip art" box and follow the dialog boxes to add a picture that you like.

  • Now run your one slide presentation by selecting the "Slide Show" button from the view buttons at the bottom left of the Powerpoint window (see diagram left)
  • To return to the slide edit view press the [Esc] key on your keyboard.
  • You might like to flash up you slide by highlighting some text, then right mouse click, then selecting Font and changing some colours.
