Creating a user (the database administrator - DBA)

  • Right click on the people project folder, select New | User then..

  • Enter user name michaelv (Use your name)
  • Enter password.
    •
  • The contents of the people project now include michaelv as a user
  • Notes
    • Password is case sensitive.
    • Role/Privilege may not be displayed if
      • the database has not been started
      • ...
      • In this case close the New User Properties window and double click on the user name in explorers right frame.

 Now assign the role for the user;
  • Right mouse on the user (michaelv) and select Properties, then from the   /Role/privilege\ tab select
    • CONNECT (allows creation and deletion of objects in the schema) and
    • DBA role.
