Microsoft Gif animator

To produce the animation shown left requires a sequence of single frames to be drawn (see two faces below) as individual files (gifs), then combined using software such as Microsofts Gif animator.

Create the individual gif files 

  • Using a drawing package create the faces as shown left.
    Save them as two separate gif files.
  • Notes.
    • Complete the first picture, then make a copy. (It is important that both graphics are exactly the same size.)
    • Paintshop Pro
    • To save the graphic into a new "file" , Select the graphic, [Ctrl]+[C] then
      [Ctrl]+[V] to create a new graphic, then file save.
Create the animated gif

  1. Start MS-Gif Animator
  2. Use (Open) to load up the second gif
  3. Use to load in the first gif
  4. Select Looping and Repeat forever (see diagram lower left).
  5. Select the (Preview) button to see your animation.
  6. Select the image tab. (below)
    For each picture change the duration.
  7. msga03.gif (2711 bytes)

    Select the (Save As) button to create the animated gif, ready for use in a Web page.
