These are the settings for my modem. Yours will likely vary but this should provide a guide to what is normal.

  • Model:0460
  • Hardware settings: Plug & Play

  • From Start | Settings | Control Panel
  • Select System | Device Manager
  • Select Ports

Apparently the Sportster has a conflict with the S3 Trio video card on COM 4.

  • From Start | Settings | Control Panel
  • Select System | Device Manager
  • Select Modem and your modem

Note: the US Robotics modem requires an /X2 to be entered into Advanced Configuration Settings to enable this modem to accept th New Zealand dial tone.
